AVS Michigan Chapter Spring Symposium - Registration Open

The AVS Michigan Chapter’s 2026 Spring Symposium will take place June 11, 2026 at the University of Michigan-North Campus, Electrical and Computer Engineering Building (EECS), 1301 Beal Avenue, Room 1303 EECS, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 and will showcase cutting-edge research in vacuum science, with a special focus on coherent dynamics in physical systems. Speakers will highlight how investigating these dynamics relies on vacuum-enabled tools and techniques, and how deeper understanding will accelerate progress in the emerging field of quantum devices and systems.

This year’s speakers include:

  • Jonas Becker, Jerry Cowen Endowed Chair of Experimental Physics, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Michigan State University
  • Mackillo Kira, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Michigan
  • Shankari Rajagopal, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, University of Michigan
  • Jae Yong Suh, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Michigan Tech University

The AVS Michigan Chapter Spring Symposium brings together local universities and industry, academics, researchers, students, and industry sponsors. The Symposium will consist of one plenary and seven invited talks. There will also be around two hours of vendor exhibition time, student poster viewing, a reception, and a poster award ceremony.

We encourage you to submit your poster title and abstract for the Spring Symposium by May 25, 2026.

Cancellation Policy

If for any reason you cannot attend the AVS Michigan Chapter Spring Symposium you must contact Alexander Burgers, aburgers@umich.edu by June 4, 2026, to receive a refund, less a $5 processing fee.  No refunds can be given for cancellations after June 4, 2026.
